Hamiltonban Township is located in Adams County, Pennsylvania. The township had a total population of 2,372 as of the 2010 census. Hamiltonban is located about 8 miles west of Gettysburg, PA, 42 miles south of the State capitol of Harrisburg, and 64 miles from Washington, DC.
Geography
Hamiltonban is on the Western edge of Adams County, Pennsylvania. Adams County is located in the South-Central part of the State, bounded by Franklin County on the West, Cumberland County on the North, York County on the East, and the State of Maryland (across the Mason-Dixon Line) on the South.
Hamiltonban Township is bounded on the West by Franklin County, on the North by Franklin Township, on the East by Highland Township, and on the South by Liberty Township and the Borough of Carroll Valley. The Borough of Fairfield is completely within Hamiltonban Twp.
Demographics
As of the census of 2010, there were 2,372 people, and 942 occupied and 86 vacant housing units in Hamiltonban Township. The racial makeup of the township as of January 1, 2010 was 96.1% White, 0.92% African American, 1.07% Asian. 2.0% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
